High Five for Friday!

Alright ya'll. It's Friday. The end of another week and the beginning of the glorious weekend. Given that the reason I started this blog was to appreciate the smaller things in life, I thought I should recap some of the amazeballs things that happened this week. It's time for HH's first edition of High Five for Friday!

Note: My photography isn't exactly blog-worthy yet, so bear with me?

1. This lunch was the best thing I've had in a long time.
The salad is bell pepper rings, cherry tomatoes, and veggie burger pieces over a bed of spinach, dressed with strawberry vinaigrette (Who else had no idea it was spelled that way?). The yummy looking stuff on the side is greek yogurt with green apple and chocolate chip cookie dough quest bar chunks.
Seriously.
YUM.
2. I made this mug at Color Me Mine, a paint-your-own ceramics studio near my house, and I'm obsessed with it.
The best part? Color Me Mine liked it on Instagram! (Follow me to keep up: @himahearts!)
The quote says "You can never have a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me." -C.S. Lewis.
I love cold tea. It's a fact.

3. Introducing friends to Downton Abbey
Kristin first inspired me to watch this show and I was absolutely addicted throughout winter break!
You can never get enough of the Dowager Countess's dry humor and blatant rudeness.
Here's a list of her best quotes from the show, courtesy of Rolling Stone.
This had me laughing out loud.

4. A New Photo Board!

Although I'll always have these on Facebook or on my computer, it's a whole new story for them to be printed out.
Every time I look at the boards in my room, I get these warm fuzzy feelings!
I also put my favorite things: cards, quotes, conference name tags, and medals up there. Anyone else do something similar?

5. My best friend of 12 years (that's a LOT when you're only 15!) turned 17!
We had a little barbecue at their house and it was SO much fun.

Barbecues don't exactly invite heavy cakes, so I just had to make this deliciously summer trifle.
It's Pinterest-worthy, isn't it?

What were the best parts of your week?
Leave me a comment below!

Happy Friday, friends!

XO, Hima

  1. Hey Hima, thanks for the feedback! I really want to stain that credenza...but we will see, the thought of it makes me nervous! Haha. You asked for a bit of feedback, so here is some quick tips! Love that you shared a lot of fun stuff in this post! Makes it interesting and engaging. Here are some quick things I would change: I would recommend getting rid of the borders on your photos (it's automatic in blogger, but easy to get rid of), make all your photos one width and stick with it (doesn't matter if the photos are vetical or horizontal), center your navigation bar and move down your google reader counter-thing and replace it with Bloglovin' (Google Reader is leavingin early July, so it doesn't really matter anymore). Good luck with the blog, and welcome to the blogging community! Can't wait to see what you do :)
