That Time I Was Famous

Last Friday night (cue Katy Perry), I could NOT sleep at all. I set a 6:30 AM alarm and woke up four times throughout the night because I was just so excited. So when my alarm finally went off, I straight up jumped out of my bed (stubbing my toe in the process), and was ready in less than 15 minutes. An hour and a half later, I was still waiting for my mom to be ready. This weekend, I went to the Summer Shape Up, hosted by Jillian Michaels and Shape magazine, to take a POP Pilates Class with Cassey Ho, creator of POP Pilates and owner of Blogilates, the biggest fitness channel on Youtube.
I found out about Cassey around March of last year and did her videos on and off in addition to other workouts for a while, which was all fine, but what I really love about her is her unfailing dedication and positivity. Watching her videos or seeing her Instagram posts just make me really happy in general, and it was so cool to get to meet my fitness idol.

I found out about it on Wednesday from Emma, and I knew I was going as soon as I saw it! We got there around 9:15, even though our class wasn't until 10:45, since we thought it would be a really big event, but we walked through all the stalls in 20 minutes. Since we had time to kill, we decided to take a cardio class with Kendall Hogan. Anyone know who that is? I didn't, but the class was fun!

The blogilates class was only 30 minutes, but it was 30 minutes of the best torture ever. Everyone of the worst, most painful (i.e. her favorite) moves from her videos were in the workout: Earthquakes, leg circlethons- you name it, we did it. By the end of class, I was shaking, but so happy. For those of you who were wondering, she's exactly the same in real life as she is in the videos. Super happy, bubbly, and very motivating.

Afterwards, there was a meet and greet, which was really fun, because we all personally got to talk to her. Now, to explain the title of this post, I felt famous because she posted a photo on Instagram, and I'm in it! It was kinda cool because some of my friends tagged me and I was just really starstruck.

Have you ever met a celebrity? Who, and how? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. Awww this is so exciting! I love Cassey's videos, she's so wonderful. I met Hilary Duff when I was younger. It's the only concert I've ever been to, and it happened to be free. We somehow snagged tickets that were incredibly close to the front, and they also included meet and greet passes.

  2. That looks amazing!!!! I've always wanted to join in to a large group exercise session (so all eyes aren't focused on what I'm doing wrong haha).
I have never actually met a celebrity...though I had the chance and chickened out. I was in Laguna Beach a few years ago having lunch and saw Lo, from the Laguna Beach & The Hills, having lunch with her mom and I kept staring and was too afraid to say hi! UGH! I seriously regret it every time I think about it because I'm sure she would have taken a picture :(

  3. Sounds like such a fun day! I've met Sarah Jessica Parker a few times & she is the most delightful person. She made me feel as though we had known each other forever. So nice when you see successful people still so down to earth.

  8. Very cool! My boss is actually a big name in Hollywood. I'm around them all the time the only problem is I don't care who they are so they get mad at me.

  11. How cool! I should totally start watching her videos. Once upon a time for my 18th birthday my bestie took me on a trip to the LA area so we could go to the Price is Right. This guy pulled us into his group becuase they were short a few people (you need to have a certain group size to be considered for the stage) and he totally ended up winning the showcase. We met Drew Carey and it was awesome. Also do you remember Beans from Even Stevens? He grew up in the same city I did and we had some mutual friends. He bought my Jamba Juice once and asked me out but I turned him down. I guess he thought because he was a star he got an automatic yes... he was not happy when I said no haha.
