-is it impossible to dress for San Francisco, because
sometimes it’s freezing and sometimes it’s
warm and you never know when?
-is it nice to
unplug for a little while and just enjoy the present?
-If anyone takes the train to work, is it just the Caltrain,
or does no one talk to each other, ever?
In typical Hima fashion, I’ve tried to start a few conversations, and
I’ve gotten straight up ignored.
-is getting a flip flop/flats tan something to be proud of?
-Is losing your phone and searching madly for it, only to
find it in your wallet an hourly occurrence?
-Is street art/graffiti actually really really pretty/ To
me, it’s nicer than seeing gray concrete is all!
-Are double-decker trains and buses really cool? I always
ride on top!
-Does Rice University remind you of Hogwarts? (click for a
picture)
-Does every girl (or guy with long hair), always have a
single black hair tie on their wrist?
-do you have to set multiple alarms to wake up, because you
know you’ll just turn the first one off? I even do this when it’s summer and I
get, like 10 hours of sleep a night. I also have to put it across the room so I
have to get up and walk.
Clearly, I’ve been worrying about these a lot lately. So please,
assuage my worries and let me know if it is just me in the comments below! Feel
free to ask your own is it just me questions too!
xo, Hima
I can't talk about anything, but the last one. I can't wake up if my family members don't shake me or yell at me in the morning. I set minimum 5 alarms, but no luck. I know how to turn it off even when I'm asleep.
ReplyDeleteVery thought-provoking! I wear a black hair tie on my wrist but for many different reasons (including the obvious!) :)
ReplyDeleteLOL YES I always always have a single black hair tie around my wrist HOW DID YOU KNOW. I also love street art and I know from experience SF is indeed impossible to dress for. Just gotta layer up/down!
ReplyDeleteIt's been about 5 years since I lived for any period of time in the states but I always remember SF being impossible to dress for your never sure of the weather :-)
ReplyDeleteFlip flop tan pride = absolutely a thing!
ReplyDeleteUK weather is just like that so we kinda dress for winter but ready for summer. I know what you mean about trains apart from my new one friend and a work colleague I smile at people on train trying to start conversation but get back nada lol. I love double decker buses
ReplyDeleteThe weather is a bit silly in Vancouver too - in just one day, there was sunshine, clouds, pouring rain, sunshine, rain, and finally clear skies. Only thing I was grateful for was spending it indoors when the pouring rain came out of nowhere. I like getting flip flop/flat tans, personally - makes me feel more in the summer-y mood! :P Plus it makes me happy to know that I managed to get darker too, haha
ReplyDeleteI would wear a black hair tie around my wrist if it meant I had long hair ;) this is a fun blog post idea!
ReplyDeleteyes it's impossible to dress for SF. i always bring layers bc you never know. i don't think i've ever talked to anyone on the caltrain.. but you're right.. it's pretty quiet. haha i'm proud of my flip flops tan! and i try my best not to.. but i normally do have a black hair tie on my wrist. :P
ReplyDeleteI've lived right outside of san francisco for 32 years. Predicting what to wear there is impossible
ReplyDeleteNope, not just you! I think graffiti is pretty too, and double decker buses are definitely cool.
ReplyDeleteRice University is totally Hogwarts for muggles! Also, yes it's SO nice to unplug from time to time!
ReplyDeleteHaha these are great! I seem to always have a black hair tie!
ReplyDeleteMasKara & Crayons
oh girl you are not alone! lol
ReplyDeleteHere are my answers, lol: No, you just have to dress in layers (I'm a Bay Area girl, too); Absolutely!; no, it's not just Caltrain, I hear other places are worse; I think so; for me it is; I agree, I've even done graffiti manicures; Yes!; Yes!; I don't know about every girl, but if my hair isn't in a ponytail already, pretty much; nope, you're on your own on that one! :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteGirl, happy to confirm riding on double decker buses/trains IS cool :) loved this post !!
ReplyDeleteLove unplugging on a regular basis!
ReplyDeleteWhen the weather is unpredictable layers are my best friend.
ReplyDeletehahaha I think I agree with ALL of these, especially San Francisco aaand losing my phone
ReplyDeleteHa, I grew up in Marin….and lived in SF for a couple years after college. The weather was so hard to dress for!
ReplyDeleteII DO put four alarms for mornings (Each 5 minutes away) Because I know I'm going to fall asleep after the first one!
ReplyDeleteSUPER YES on the alarm clock. I put mine on a table where I have to get up to turn it off also and I'm SO PISSED at myself every morning.
ReplyDeleteHmm try setting it across the room so you have to get up and walk over! That really helped me!
ReplyDeleteI went to the beach on Sunday and I tanned through my shirt- I have the coolest tan tines on my back right now!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteI didn't! I wanted to know if it was just me and I'm glad to know it's not :)
ReplyDeleteAgreed! Even when I check the weather I'm freezing or burning!
ReplyDeleteHaha glad to know I'm not alone!
ReplyDeleteIt's so difficult to deal with! And yeah trains are so hard!
ReplyDeleteYou never know with weather! Definitely agree with the summery feel!
ReplyDeleteMy hair isn't even that long- it's just a habit! Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteI never have anyone to talk to, and I can only write blog posts on my computer for so long :) I guess I'm not alone! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy! It'll be like 80 degrees in Saratoga and barely 65 in San Francisco!
ReplyDeleteHAHA glad to hear that! It's so fun being on the top level!
ReplyDeleteRight!? It's gorgeous! And unplugging is soooo relaxing!
ReplyDeleteHaha good to hear! :)
ReplyDeleteRight!? I never remember putting them on my wrist either!
ReplyDeleteYAY I'm glad! :) Thank you for confirming!
ReplyDeleteI guess I should getting better at layering considering I'm there three times a week! :) Graffiti manicures sound amazing!

ReplyDeleteI agree 100% It's so relaxing!
ReplyDeleteSomething I need to get better at!
ReplyDeleteMy phone just does not stay in my pocket. EVER!
ReplyDeleteI agree! It's so unpredictable!
ReplyDeleteMe too! My whole family hates me for it!
ReplyDeleteWaking up is never a positive experience!
ReplyDeleteI had to lol at the flip flops tan one! You are not alone :) LOVED this post!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great list! I love reading these things! I love the flip flop tan such a love hate relationship!
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog through HCBN!! And I love it so much! :) I'm new to the Network and I love how I can find awesome bloggers to follow. Anyways, I love what you said about graffiti and street art. Before I took a graffiti tour in Spain, when I traveled abroad, I looked at graffiti in a negative light--but now, I see how beautiful it can be. And yes I'm one of those long-haired girls with a black hair tie on my wrist--always. :) xo, gina
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree on the San Francisco thing. Each time we've visited, I hate it because it'll be July and I'll be wearing a hoodie, but the next day I'll need shorts and a t-shirt!
ReplyDeleteI swear, they're like my battle scars from being out in the sun! I'm so proud of them :) Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you Leanna! I completely agree!
ReplyDeleteAww, thank you Gina! Yes, the HCBN is wonderful and so helpful! Were you studying abroad when you went to spain?
ReplyDeleteSee? At least ONE person understands me! It's so unpredictable!
ReplyDeleteHaha yes, I am the girl who ALWAYS has a hair tie around her wrist...and about 50 more in my purse!
ReplyDeleteLOL...I wear a hair tie on my wrist all the time. Hahaha And yes, Rice University does sort of remind me of Hogwarts. And I love street art too. :)
ReplyDeleteSince I was in middle school I have had a single black hair tie on my left wrist! And yes, dressing for weather in Northern California/Bay Area can be impossible sometimes...
ReplyDeleteUnplugging is the best!!! Im in India rn so there are days when the power goes out and our wifi just stops working - and it basically teaches me to not get bored and to keep myself occupied by going outside or relaxing with a good book <3
ReplyDeleteIly Himies bye
