Fun Friday Blog Hop!

Hey ya'll! This week I'm co-hosting the Fun Friday blog hop (YAY), but I wanted to show you some pictures from Halloween! I went as an 80's fitness/aerobics instructor with one of my friends, and it was SO much fun!

Aren't we just the cutest? BIG PLUS: We were really comfy all day! And no my hair was not cooperating!

Some of my friends were lamesauce and didn't dress up. At all. (Prachi, Gauri, Shruthi, Sneha this is you).
1. Favorite spanish teacher!
2. Zombie dolls and Fitness instructors make a great picture.
3. Thank you to Gauri for the amazing Blogilates tank top!

1. No photo blog post would be complete without these two.
Quote of the day from Bee: "Okay this photo is going to be really awkward because I can't move my arms in this dress." Oh, how I love her!
2. My little brother made me proud as Harry Potter!

Can I just say how great my school's staff is? I mean Bee (Princess Belle) got the entire office staff to dress up as Disney Princesses). And yes, Rapunzel is a guy.
They're just so cute!

Mmk, I know that was a lot of photos, but hopefully you'll go ahead and link up to the hop now! For those of you here for the first time, hi! Check out the About me  section if you have time! Leave your blog link in the comments below so I can check it out!

5 Couples Who Should Never Ever Ever Break Up

No- it’s not what you’re thinking. Not that kind of couple. As much as I love Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks together, ain’t nobody got time fo’ dat!
I’m talking about my favorite couples of life. Still confused? Just keep going.
1. Sweaters and Scarves.
When fall rolls around, I’m all about that sweater life. Pair that with some boots and you’re golden.
sorry for the icky Snapchat quality.
2. Music and Studying. Music actually makes life so much better. For all of you students out there, did you know that if you listen to music while studying, and listen to the same music right before the test, you remember everything better? Try it!

Trust me- I did my science fair project on this last year. 1st place HOLLA!
3. Celery and Peanut Butter. This is actually one of my favorite snacks of all time. I hate raisins though, so Ants on a Log is out of the question. How about you?
4.  Pumpkin Spice Lattes and Studying
We all know that slogging through hours of trying to comprehend cell respiration (Holla at AP bio budds) isn’t the easiest without some inspiration. And when you can’t go to the pumpkin patch because you don’t have time, this is the next best thing.
PSLs and mommys (mommies?) go well together too!
5. Fuzzy socks and winter.

Forget winter- I’ve been wearing these like it’s nobody’s business right now. My feet get cold darnit!

Who are your top couples? Let me know in the comments below!

Hello Monday

Mondays aren’t really that bad, come to think of it. Especially when you’ve had a productive and tenjoyable weekend. It may not have been the most fun weekend, but hey, it’s the little things that count, right? I’d say this weekend had a lot of little things that made it memorable.

For starters, I got my nails done!
Don’t tell me you haven’t done this at some point. Something about raspberries just brings about the 5 year-old in me. You get I ate them off of my fingers afterwards.

Yummy sweet potato and sesame chicken for dinner! (Probably 23848390284 calories, but calories don’t count after September, right? It’s “the holidays” according to all the department stores in the nation.

I actually love fall leaf colors. Sometimes I wish I could live in the Northeast just for fall foliage, but the tree down the street is fine for now.

Sunday night after finishing all my homework, we headed out to the Cheesecake Factory and enjoyed some yummy oreo cheesecake. My parents also both forgot their wallets so we sat in the restaurant for an extra half hour as my mom went back home to get it. It happens...right?

Any more exciting weekends? I’ve got a great post coming up tomorrow so check back for that soon!

Narcissism at it's finest

Ahh, Thursday night.
The weekly dump of pictures of myself attempting to look presentable or celebrating my efforts with a selfie.
Like I said, narcissism at it's finest.
Sidenote: I think lifestyle blogging, by definition, is really narcissistic. I mean, you're writing about your life, posting pictures of your self, etc. It's all about you. But you know what? I'm fine with that. Your blog is yours! Your blog is for you to post whatever the heck you want, right? I love writing blog posts, posting photos, and interacting with readers.
Thoughts?
Okay, back to my High Five for Friday!

1. This photo isn't technically from this week, but I've spent a lot of time with my little brother this week, and I've realized that my baby is growing up. He's in fourth grade, and he had this huge geography test this week, so he was actually sitting down and studying like he was supposed to, and it really hit me that he gets older as I do.
But he'll always be my baby bother brother, right?

2.

2. I really wish it was warm enough for these outfits again. I also wish both of us weren't so busy so we could spend more time with this girl. We go to school together, and she's one of my best friends, but I never see this fool.

3. Uh, fall fashion. And leaves. Leaves are great. . And selfies. And scarves. I discovered the magic of cardigans and scarves last winter and things only went up from there.
After years of being the "school sweatshirt/graphic tee" girl, I got my act together. Thank god for growing up.

4. Food is always good.

5. HALLOWEEN DECS YAY. I'm in love.

Lastly, I know this has been a long post, but I've been obsessed with this song this week, and I think you should listen to it. Tell me what you think!

What were the best parts of your week? Anything exciting? Let me know in the comments below!

You Know You Live in CA When....

In history last week, we started talking about the Gold Rush, and how so many people came to California in search of a fortune, which got me thinking about this great state, and what it means to be a Californian today. So, without further ado:

You know you live in CA when…

"The City" is San Francisco, not New YorkYou have also never once referred to San Francisco as “Frisco” and throw mad side eye at those that do.
oh gosh, just look how gorgeous it is. Actually love this city so much.

2. You eat pumpkin ice cream in October instead of Pumpkin pie because it's not cold enough

This was me yesterday. Go to Trader Joe's and get some if you haven't already!

3. You wear sweats and boots in 70 degree weather. I think she looks pretty cold.

4. The Giants are the San Francisco Giants, not the New York Giants (baseball vs. football?)

YAY for Pablo Sandoval.

5. Seasonal produce doesn't exist. All strawberries, all year.

Bonus for us Norcal lovelies: "Hella" is a way of life.

GO BALL15TIC!

No, it's not the 90's and I'm not really excited to be IMing you.
Bcuz 1m 2 kul 4 dat.
(sorry about that).
My title is a reference to my school's annual homecoming week. Here's how it works: Each class (including the teachers!) does a gauntlet in the morning, a skit, a few dances, and participates in a can drive in a contest against one another. Our overall theme was Worlds of Fantasy, and each class had their own theme.
Basically, it's the best week of the entire school year. You get to dress up in costume every day, and as a photographer, I loved sitting in the front row of the skits and taking pictures!

Staff Skit Day: Camelot- aka princess dress up day!
fave staffer, me, and best friend. As you can see, Doc Bee went all out!

Class of 2017: Pandora! (as in the blue people...avatar?)
We had fun dressing up in our tshirts from freshman year and cheering on the little ones.

2016: Wonderland!
He was late for a very important date!

2015: JUNIOZ (like Oz + the Juniors?)
This was our day, and I've gotta say, we rocked it.

Four of us dressed up as Scarecrow, Tin Man, Dorothy, and the Lion, and the second photo is just my leadership girls!

2014: The Seniors ROCKED it with Cirque de Soleil! I wasn't up to dressing up this day, but I got some great photos of the skit and dances!
Top right PC to Roger Chen!

Friday: Homecoming culminates in Rally Day! Just picture 1800 high school kids screaming their class cheers at the top of their lungs, amazing decorations, and just an all around adrenaline rush.

2015 did an amazing job, and it was just such great energy!

There you have it! I can't wait for next year YAY!

How have your homecoming experiences been? Does our school do anything different? Anything similar?

'till next time!

Why Pumpkin is the Next China

We've all heard about how China is taking over the world, right? With its huge workforce, growth mindset, etc, etc.
Here's the deal: Pumpkin is now taking over the world.

Drop by a Trader Joe’s. Walk into any Target. Stroll by a Starbucks.

The one thing they all have in common? PUMPKIN.

Ya’ll. Pumpkin is everywhere- the smell, the flavor, the motif, the color, just everything about it! And I’m not sure if I’m diggin’ the pumpkin sensory overload.

I walked into Trader Joe’s the other day with my mom, and the entire place was orange. See for yourself how many pumpkin products graced the shelves of TJs.

Is it possible to have this much pumpkin in one place?

It’s not fall anymore. We call it pumpkin now.

Shine Bright Like a Diamond

Or like a Shine On award- your choice.
I was nominated for a Shine On Award by the amazing Nicole over at Nicole Marica, and since I haven't done one of the "get to know the blogger" posts in a while, I thought I'd give it a shot.
Thanks Nicole!

1. I'm 16 years old. Not the most interesting, but a little bit unusual in the realm of 20 and 30 something mom/fashion/diy/lifestyle bloggers.
Okay, I'm done using these photos. I promise.
not.

2. I’m such a big Harry Potter fan that I named my dog Bellatrix. Before y’all get upset about Bellatrix Lestrange’s role as a villain and all that jazz, it also means “Beautiful Warrior.”
"Isn't that the cutest thing you've ever seen?!"
Bonus points if you leave a comment with the reference!

3. I absolutely love (and overuse) parenthetical statements. Not in real essay writing of course, but blogging wise. That’s how I think, so that’s how I write.

4. I can't keep my nails painted for my life. It doesn't happen.

5. I happen to think I have the best friends. Ever. Who else would cover me in tin foil for almost an hour so I could be a Tin Man for our homecoming gauntlet? The theme was Wizard of Oz in case you can't tell. (Confused? Don't worry- I've got a whole post coming up on this)

6. I love photography. so much. I love being behind the lens, but I also like having my picture taken. That's not normal, is it?

#combobreaker
Yes, I forgot to wear my Junior Class t-shirt.

7. I can quote Mean Girls like it's the fetchest thing on the planet. (Cue the "You go, Glen Coco!")

And there are my 7 facts! I nominate

Michelle from On the Adventure
Mikaela from Mikaela Rae

I had fun doing this- I hope you enjoyed reading it. Thanks again for nominating me Nicole!
